There are several rest areas in Okuhita, one being Mizubenosato. True to its name, which means “waterside home,” Mizubenosato is next to the Oyama River, and visitors find the sights and sounds of the flowing water refreshing. There is a small footbridge that crosses to a small island, perfect for picnics, or a refreshing walk to stretch your legs after a long drive. There are two restaurants, and a store where one can buy local products and souvenirs.
